A life lived.
A voice found.
Brayo Bryans is a Ugandan-born, Toronto-based singer-songwriter and baritone performer. His music is rooted in lived experience: finding your voice, holding on to yourself, and making room for joy.
From his first song, “Maama,” to collaborations with Velvet Code, storytelling remains at the heart of his work. On stage, that story becomes something shared: a voice, a room, a connection.
His journey from Uganda to Toronto connects music, film and advocacy. After years of being urged to stay invisible, finding his voice became an act of self-expression—and a way to connect with others. His work carries stories of resilience, belonging and the freedom to be yourself.
A Toronto Film School graduate, Brayo also tells stories through documentary and personal film. Music remains the thread running through that journey.

Nominated for Best Documentary at the Toronto Film School Film Festival 2023.
